Grid Cloner
A 3D array with grid, honeycomb, checkerboard, and brick patterns, plus a random octree subdivision.
The Grid Cloner fills a box with clones. Pattern shifts rows into honeycombs or bricks, and Random Subdivide splits cells into smaller ones.

- Count X / Y / Z and Size X / Y / Z
- Pattern and Stagger
- Random Subdivide with levels, amount, seed, gap, and spread
- Found in the node graph under Cloners → Cloners
The image on the right is the example patch itself. Drag and drop it onto the app, or load it with File → Load, to open the full graph. The default 5×5×5 array of small boxes.
Inputs and outputs

| Port | Type | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Surface | The geometry to repeat. A texture here makes billboard quads. |
| Effector 1 … 4 | Effector | Cloner effectors; the four ports concatenate. |
| Origin Object | Surface | A Null to parent the array to. |
| Surface | Surface | The array. |
Parameters
- Count X / Y / Z (1–64, default 5), Size X / Y / Z (0–50, default 4).
- Pattern — Grid (default), Honeycomb (XZ floor), Honeycomb (XY wall), Checkerboard, Brick. Stagger X / Z (−1 to 1, default 0).
- Random Subdivide (default off) with Subdivide Levels (0–4, default 1), Subdivide Amount (0–1, default 0.35), Subdivide Seed, Iteration Factor (0–4, default 1), Iterated Gap (0–0.5, default 0.15), Iterated Spread (−1 to 1, default 0).
Per-clone block
- Source Sequence — with several sources wired: Cycle (round-robin) (default), Blocks (even split), Random, Per Row, Per Column.
- Clone Scale X / Y / Z and Clone Uniform Scale (0.01–10, default 1), Clone Rotate Heading / Pitch / Roll (default 0).
- Billboards Face Camera (default on) — for texture sources.
- Position X / Y / Z, Rotate Heading / Pitch / Roll, Scale X / Y / Z, Uniform Scale — the array's own transform.
Every slider has a per-parameter animation bar, so it can be animated, audio driven, or MIDI mapped.
Examples
City — Count Y 1, Random Subdivide on, a Randomise Effector on Scale Y ±.
Troubleshooting
The frame rate drops — 64³ is 262144 clones. Lower the counts or use a Point Geometry Renderer with particles instead.
